I just noticed something, at about 10:30 last night, that conservatives seem to have a very disturbing plan. I can't figure out what it is, but I'm sure it's not good. Let's review conservative goals as shown through activism and (proposed) legislation:
no birth control
no abortion
no WIC
no food stamps
no welfare
no education*
no art/music*
no unions
no healthcare
no social security
no euthanasia
Birth to death in a neat little list and I can't quite figure what it means. I can see the results, more babies to more women who can't afford to feed them. Those children will grow up hungry and ignorant. They will have low paying jobs with little protection and if they get sick, they will die. They will work until they die and they'd better hope it's quick, because they won't have the option of cutting a painful, lingering death short.
Oh.
I guess the Confederacy lost, but the dream of owning slaves is still very much alive.
*Schools have become nothing but centers for teaching to the test. My niece is going into middle school next year, at which point she will have music as a class for the first time. She won't get art until high school, assuming they don't cut it before then. She gets science half the year. That's not an education.

I guess the Confederacy lost, but the dream of owning slaves is still very much alive.
ReplyDeleteBINGO!
Do you actually believe your own propaganda?
ReplyDeleteno birth control - most conservatives have no problem with birth control -- with the exception of things like the morning after pill which some consider a form of abortion.
abortion - yes, a majority of conservatives are anti-abortion. This is nothing new. According to polls, something like half the country is anti-abortion at least to the point where they want sharp restrictions on the process.
WIC/food stamps/welfare - depends on the conservative in question. Few, except radicals without any political power, would do away with them entirely. Doing away with social safety net programs entirely is an extreme libertarian position. Conservatives are not libertarians.
no education*
no art/music* Too stupid to even respond to.
no unions - major exaggeration. Most conservatives oppose public employee unions. Other unions tend to be disliked, primarily because they are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Democratic party, but there's no push to ban them entirely, which would take away the freedom of workers to organize themselves.
no healthcare - again, an assertion too idiotic to deserve a response.
no social security - most conservatives want reforms to social security, but do not want to do away with it. Saying they do is typical intellectually dishonest leftist propaganda.
no euthanasia - true, most conservatives are against euthanasia.
"I guess the Confederacy lost, but the dream of owning slaves is still very much alive."
Maybe in your imagination, otherwise not so much.
I know this is difficult for government-worshipers to understand, but wanting less government-funding for something, or even no government funding, does not necessarily make you opposed to the thing itself. If I oppose taxpayer funding for football stadiums, that does not mean I want to do away with football.
Dear UNRR:
ReplyDeletePlease keep your poisonous ignorant hate-mongering on your own pitiful blog. This is a good one.
