30% of Gamers Are Women, So Why Can't Sheva Wear the Damn Uniform?

gamer, feminism, sheva, resident evil, gears of war 2, cliffy b, capcom, asshat,
I, like millions of other women, love video games. In fact, 38% of all gamers are women. Admittedly, most female gamers do not share my love of blowing shit up, and tend away from games like Resident Evil 5, but we are still a huge portion of the market. Also, the average age of gamers is 33.

That being the case, why are developers like Capcom still designing female characters to fuel the fantasies of 13 year old boys? Sheva, the woman pictured above, is a professional mercenary, a soldier for hire. She's damn good at it, too. So why, whywhywhy, would she go on a mission to intercept weapons being sold to terrorists while dressed for clubbing? Did she get all girly that morning and forget that she was headed to central Africa rather than downtown LA? Is she under the impression that terrorists don't shoot at busty brunettes? Does she not understand that bulletproof vests provide more protection than bustiers?

Just a suggestion, asshats at Capcom: go find some female soldiers and see how they dress at work. The above isn't it. I would even suggest hanging out with Cliffy B. The female characters in the Gears of War series are few and far between (mostly King Raven pilots and Centaur drivers), but the ones we do see are covered from head to toe and do not look like Playboy bunnies. (Now if we could just convince Cliffy to give Anya a gun . . .)

Gaming Deaths! They're Everywhere!

I am not just an atheist. I am a rabid gamer. I love video games. I cannot get enough of video games. I started with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and didn't stop. Bioshock owned me for about 6 months. Gears of War and Gears of War 2? Can't stop playing them. Fallout 3? I'm 100 hours in and not close to done.

Understandably, I get a little miffed when people start describing video games as Teh Evul. It's the end of Western Civilization! (Civ's an awesome game, why end it?) Video games make people into murderers! (I have yet to see proof of that one.) Video games end marriages and break up families! (Some people will get addicted to anything.)

So, here's Dory, with his own special take on the evuls of gaming. (Of course, he includes the obligatory "I used to be a gamer". So predictable.)

I find it odd that in this day and age we spend more time out of reality than in it. You do? Do tell, how? No matter what you are doing, you are always in reality. As far as I know, there isn't any way to be anywhere else. When was the last time you considered the lilies of the field? Honestly now think about it. Never. I have never even seen a field of lilies or even one lily in a field. As a member of the USAF I have a couple no of? hundred co-workers. They are constantly hanging out in my office all couple hundred of them? that's quite an office. and shooting the bull. bang! A majority of the time they talk about computer games mainly World of Warcraft. Now I use to be now, you use to be? do you understand time? one of those guys that spent every waking moment playing games. really, you never ate or peed or showered? i find your dedication impressive. I was a AN! AN! avid Everquest and Ultima Online player for several years. back in the day. I loved playing the Quake and watching the mtv? and Unreal series games. But as I look back I can see for several years I was also neglecting my wife and son. again, one guy's addiction is proof of absolutely nothing.

The thing is these games are taking a large toll on our lives. whose? yours, mine? you don't play anymore and i'm just fine. Just look at the recent news related to game deaths. Yes people die playing these games. Here 2 kids in this article have died for FROM! over exertion one word, and did they die in the article or in reality?. Here a Korean couple's 4 month old daughter dies while they game away. that was appalling. These deaths are always popping up in the news. no, they're not. those are the only two i could find. 3 dead people over the course of several years is hardly an epidemic. more people die from being accidentally hanged on their curtains.

Also, both of those stories relate not gaming, but to bad parenting. The parents should have stopped their children from playing to the point of overexertion. The other parents should have fed their baby. That's not a gaming death, that's bad parents.

How big is this gaming addiction problem? we could ask a psychologist, or we could just misunderstand other statistics. World of Warcraft claims to have 11.5 million subscribers as of December 2008. So if you took the total number of people in both New York City and Los Angeles combined you'd have that many people currently playing World of Warcraft. no, a subscriber is not a person currently playing the game. that's all the people currently signed up to be able to play the game. i am a WoW subscriber. I won the game/subscription, played for a few hours, and never played again. That's JUST World of Warcraft. There are at least a dozen other Massive Mutliplayer Online Role playing games out there. name them. Then if you toss in all the other games that aren't MMORPG you have a staggering number of wasted hours. or, you have a whole lotta people enjoying themselves with a video game instead of a tv show. so what? it's only acceptable entertainment if you say it is?

As a matter of fact comma the other day in Church we was talking about how busy we've gotten over the decades. yes, adulthood is busier than childhood. being a parent is busier than not being a parent. oh, how we love the past. How when our parents were young we had more family time. yes, life was more inexpensive back then. less people had to work, blahblahblah. More sit down and relax time. that's not a sentence. More time for Church and Friends. random capitalization Today we bombard our very existence with pointless wastes of time. we bombard ourselves with pointless wastes of time? can you please have a clear thought? one? We sit in front of the computer surfing till our wrist hurt. just the one, huh? at least you're not masturbating. We sit in front of the TV till we need glasses to see. watching tv does not cause one to need glasses. neither does reading in the dark. nor does wearing glasses cause your eyes to deteriorate further. scare me with something that does exist.

My son in fact gets rather upset when he don't have the computer or XBOX to play on. All he keeps saying is "I'm Bored" and I have to get authoritative with him and force him to go outside or read a book or play his trombone. kids are always like that. they'll declare they have nothing to do and then reject everything they have to do. i don't know why, but i clearly remember being that way. When I was his age you couldn't keep me inside period. so, your child is not a clone of you. wow, call the media! or, better yet, berate him into being you. that's good parenting. I loved going out in the wood riding my bike or taking my BB gun outside xbox=less dangerous than a BB gun. you can't shoot your eye out, or anyone else's, with an xbox. I've got to make a change in my kids apostrophe lives because this is already getting out of control. so, you're a bad parent, don't blame microsoft. I know this isn't something my kids are going to enjoy but what choice do I have. question mark! This time they spend burning brain cells

what? could we have that again? This time they spend burning brain cells BWAHAHAHAHAHA! playing video games does not destroy brain cells. in fact, playing video games makes surgeons better at their jobs. i guess if you're not reading the bible, you're developing alzheimer's.

instead of studying God's Word or learning something that is useful isn't showing me being a good parent. your command of the english language sucks, too. I know God don't approve of this way of life. It's times like these I can really admire the Amish. I admire them, too, all the time, but I don't want to be one.

Hordeing Gears

Don't worry, I can spell "hording". "Hordeing" is something else entirely.

A female friend of mine asked me how I can enjoy video games, which rarely involve strong female characters, and when they do, those women are always, always dressed like porn stars.

The truth is, that does bother me. The truth is also that, as a 5'1.5", 100lb female, playing a huge, hypermacho badass with an even bigger gun is crazy fun! I imagine that 15 year old, skinny, nerdy boys feel the same way.

I fear strange men at night. I recognize that any random date (not that I've been on a date in a decade) could be a rapist, or worse. So, it's fun to pretend to be someone that will never have that fear. And to remember that, in my own way, I do have power. I can change the world, even without a chainsaw gun.

The Story of the Century

I love it when, at the beginning of a year, decade or century, somebody declares something "the story of the year/decade/century." Every January, some schlockfest of a movie declares itself the "movie of the year." Yeah, it's January. There's been like one other movie. Calm down.

This leads us to Janet Porters latest foray into unreality, Make the media cover the story of the century. (Yeah, the picture is entirely random, I just like it.)

One of the most often asked questions regarding whether or not Barack Obama meets the constitutional requirements for the office of president is: "Why hasn't the 'mainstream' media covered this?" Good question. I bet that's not the most asked question. I bet the most asked question is "Are you fucking nuts?", or for the more polite "What is the matter with you?" or "Do you need your Thorazine refilled?" Those have to be the top 3 questions. "Why hasn't the 'mainstream' media covered this?" is probably the 53rd most asked question.

Also, why is "mainstream" in quotes? It's the mainstream media or it's not. Maybe I should send Ms. Porter to a grammar website.

Well, one thing we found out in the last election is there isn't anything "mainstream" about the "mainstream" media. There is no longer any doubt about their pro-Obama bias – even the Washington Post came out and admitted it.

All right, let's examine what "mainstream" means. The definition of "mainstream" is the principal or dominant course, tendency, or trend. Obama received 53% of the popular vote. Therefore, the principal or dominant court, tendency or trend was to support Obama. And, the Washington Post did not admit a pro-Obama bias- it's the word "bias" that's important in that sentence- they came out in support of a candidate. Newspapers do that all the time. It's not bias. And, had the Washington Post come out in support of McCain, you know Ms. Porter would not be all upset about it.

If it weren't for WorldNetDaily, a few radio talk shows and some blogs, we wouldn't even know about the constitutional crisis we're in. The job of the media is not to report every disproven conspiracry theory any idiot can come up with. It is to report actual, provable news. Look what happened to Rather. He did what Ms. Porter is doing- latching onto anything negative someone said about a politican he hated- and he got spanked for it. He got spanked because there was no proof and he didn't do enough research.

Interestingly, these are the first things on the chopping block in an unchecked Obama administration. Yes, yes, yes, Obama is going to remove the First Amendment. All by hisself. Even assuming Obama wanted to do that, he couldn't. The President cannot unilaterally change the Constitution. The Constitution can only be changed via an Amendment initiated by Congress or a state, which then has to be ratified (or voted for) by a certain number of states. So, even if the President did try to remove the First Amendment, a majority of USians would have to agree to it. File that under not very fucking likely.

Look, we're not asking for the world here. You don't have to be "asking for the world" to be making an unreasonable request. Neither is the Constitution. Sentence fragment. What isn't the Constitution doing? Do inanimate object actually "do" anything? Guess it depends on what your definition of "is" is. Some pretty basic requirements like being 35 years old, Please, please, please form a complete sentence. Please. having 14 years residency in the United States, and being a natural born citizen. The children of US citizens are US citizens no matter where they are born. Otherwise, the children of diplomats in other countries wouldn't be US citizens. You can see how awkward that would get. When Sen. John McCain was questioned about it, he showed his birth certificate without hesitating. When Barack Obama was asked by courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, he ducked and hid behind the right to privacy. Even responding to this particular request is giving it a legitimacy it doesn't deserve.

Ironically, when Obama was running for the Illinois Senate, he won by disqualifying every candidate who ran against him in the primary, including a guy who had been through a nasty and salacious divorce. How is that irony? Irony is a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated Even though he had a small child who could be hurt by the information being made public, a court decided that the public's "right to know" outweighed this poor fella's right to privacy, and he backed out. Obama clings to the "right to privacy" regarding his own qualifications, just not his opponents.

Here's the actual irony: McCain and Palin spent the campaign shouting the Obama (who also has young children) is a MUSLIM!TERRORIST!HE'sBLACK! and Ms. Porter is complaining that Obama questioned an opponents morals? Does Ms. Porter read anything she writes? Remember that old lady telling McCain she was afraid because Obama is an "Arab"? Remember the crowd at Palin's hate rally shouting n***er at a random black cameraman? I do.

The second most-asked question or the 67th most asked question about Obama's citizenship is: "Don't you think someone would have found out the answer to these questions before now?" Also an outstanding question. Is it that hard to write a complete sentence involving a subject and a verb? Phil Berg,

*we interrupt this post for a visit to a previous post*

In 2005 Philip Berg was fined and sanctioned $10,000 for having committed a "laundry list of unethical actions." "Other attorneys should look to Mr. Berg's actions as a blueprint for what not to do when attempting to effectively and honorably perform the duties of the legal profession," Joyner wrote."This court has grown weary of Mr. Berg's continuous and brazen disrespect toward this court and his own clients. Mr. Berg's actions ... are an enormous waste of judicial time and resources that this court cannot, in good conscience, allow to go unpunished." That's the man leading the charge against Obama.

*resume regularly scheduled blogging*

whose case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court, not only filed suit in August but also copied Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean on the matter before Obama was chosen as the nominee. I am a legal secretary, and I can tell you that as long as I have the filing fees and the time, I can file any lawsuit I want, against anyone I want, and copy anyone I want. I would have thought that something as important as whether a potential nominee is qualified to serve in office might be worth a question or two prior to the party's selection. Sure, if the information were true or relevant. But that information was ignored, and now they're just hoping it will all go away. I'm hoping Ms. Porter will go away. If wishes were dollars . . .

It won't. Not until Obama comes forward with the proof that the American people want and the Constitution demand. The Constitution demands, with an "s", the Constitution being a singular noun. Yeesh!

But what can an ordinary citizen do to defend the Constitution? Grab a katana? Instead of sitting on the sidelines wringing our hands, we can do something about it. Funny, that's not how I spend my time. If the "news" channels won't cover what may be the biggest story of our lifetime, I say, let's buy it. Ms. Porter wants to buy what? Our lifetime? The biggest story? When you use a pronoun such as "it", the pronoun refers to the last appropriate noun mentioned. In the case, "it" would refer either to "lifetime" or "story". Ms. Porter wants to buy a story? Hmmmm. Help put this television ad on the air – watch it at obamaforgery.com: Tell me what it's like, I don't get sound on my computer at work.

Heard the rumors about Barack Obama's citizenship? Sure, I chose not to believe what every nutbag in the religious rights says.
These are the facts: only if you define "facts" as "whatever I happen to say"
The Constitution requires the president to be a natural born citizen. true
Obama's grandmother said she there when Barack was born in Kenya. can we leave the woman alone? I can't find anything on this other than on wnd and related fundysites.
Obama refuses to release his original birth certificate. i wouldn't respond to this, either.
Instead of a birth certificate, Obama's campaign posted a certification given to those born abroad.
Experts have called even that document an "obvious forgery."
experts identified by username!
Obama attended school in Indonesia as Barry Soetoro, when only Indonesian citizens were permitted to attend. *sigh* Mr. Soetoro was a citizen, so his stepson was allowed to attend. We allow the same thing in the US. Also, I can call myself by any name I want, that doesn't make it my legal name.
Obama's school records list his father as Lolo Soetoro and Obama's citizenship as Indonesian. Indonesian school records now trump the Constitution? That's an unfortunate argument to make. What she's really getting at is that Obama is MUSLIM!TERRORIST!HE's BLACK!
Obama traveled to Pakistan in 1981 when it was illegal to enter as a U.S. citizen. US Citizens were never banned from entering Pakistan. What Ms. Porter is referring to is a "travel advisory". The US issues travel advisories based on current diplomatic relationships and recent violent events. Right now, it is legal to US citizens to travel to India. Given the recent tragedies in Mumbai, it is inadvisable.
Sixteen lawsuits in 12 states and two cases before the Supreme Court now challenge Obama's citizenship. Again, any idiot can file any lawsuit, regardless of merit.
Fact: Our Constitution still matters. That is a fact.
www.obamaforgery.com

Illuminati Pictures,
an extreme right wing video production company who produced the video of expert Ron Polarik, produced this ad that raises as many of the facts regarding Obama's citizenship as one can fit in 60 seconds. Let's let get a fucking thesaurus, bitch: allow. Let's allow. America hear them and add their voice VOICES to the 120,000 out of the almost 302,000,000 people in the US who signed the WND petition in the last few days.

Go to www. Faith2Action.org and watch the ad. Any Web donation to Faith2Action from now until Dec. 15 will go directly toward airtime to place this ad on television. How much is it going to take? Well, $12,000 buys a national 60-second ad on Fox News between 5 and 6 p.m. I say let's buy a few of those and publicize it so the rest of the world finally hears about the constitutional crisis we're in. Then, the Bill O'Reillys, Sean Hannitys and Rush Limbaughs may decide to cover the story of the century. Oh, now I understand the quotes around mainstream. She can't even get O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh to cover this? Ms. Porter is full of fail.

Bitter, Bitter Coulter

WARNING: Too much exposure to Ann Coulter can result in Neuromuscular reactions include dystonias, motor restlessness, pseudo-parkinsonism and tardive dyskinesia, and appear to be dose-related. Agranulocytosis, eosinophilia, leukopenia, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenic purpura and pancytopenia have been reported.

No wait, those are the side effects of Thorazine. Too much Ann Coulter can cause your brain to leap directly out of your skull, grab the nearest sharp object and remove your eyeballs, thus preventing you from ever exposing it to more Ann Coulter. Just watch out for that, all right?

Genius, thy name is Obama

What is it with anti-intellectuals? Bush mangles the English language every time he talks, and that's a good thing! You can drink beer with Bush, they say, as if that is some sort of qualification for being President of the United States. Palin proudly states that if a nuclear confrontation occurs, she won't blink. She also couldn't name one Supreme Court case (Roe v. Wade) or one magazine (Time, Newsweek, People).

Why do people want a President at least as stupid as they are? I want a President to be smarter and more educated than me. I also want him to blink, blink, blink and blink again. (I mean, these people haven't played Fallout 3? The effects of a nuclear war are not pretty. The game based on them? Awesome!)

With Time magazine comparing Obama to Jesus, she says this as if Obama wanted them to do that. Time does what it does without checking with Obama first. I did find that to be hyperbole, but the comparison, in terms of message not messiahood, is valid.

I guess we should be relieved that, this week, liberals are only comparing him to Abraham Lincoln. The comparison to Lincoln is more valid. They both hail from Illinois, they both took/are taking office at a very troubled time in history and Obama is the end result of Lincoln's stance on slavery. It's a nice comparison.

The one thing every liberal on TV seems to know about Lincoln is that he put rivals in his cabinet, as subtly indicated in the title to historian and plagiarist Doris Kearns Goodwin's book: "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln." Yes, plagiarism is bad. Yes, Ms. Goodwin is a plagiarist. But why use this example? I was taught that Lincoln put rivals in his cabinet in the fifth grade. Why not just say, "the one thing most people know about Lincoln, other than that whole FREEING THE SLAVES thing, is that he put rivals in his cabinet"? I'll tell you why: because this way, Ms. Coulter gets to connect, however tenuously, liberals and plagiarizers. It is an association fallacy: an inductive formal fallacy of the type hasty generalization or red herring which asserts that qualities of one thing are inherently qualities of another, merely by an irrelevant association.

Like Lincoln, Goodwin is always open to contributions from her rivals, although Lincoln was better at crediting their words.Again, this is entirely irrelevant. This is not supposed to be an article about Goodwin or plagiarism. This is supposed to be an article about Obama . . . or something.

And hasn't Obama talked to former rival Hillary about becoming his Secretary of State? Yes, he has. Hillary has tremendous experience with matters of diplomacy and with leaders around the world by virtue of having been First Lady for 8 years. That's part of the job of First Lady: to be an unofficial diplomat, to present a softer, more pleasant side of the White House. Hasn't he had a sit-down with Sen. John McCain? Yes, he has. More power to him. After all that mudslinging on McCain's side, I wouldn't have been able to restrain myself from punching him, let alone actually have a conversation with the man. Did I imagine this, or is he even now brokering peace talks between Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck? What?

Ergo: Obama is a genius. Anti-Intellectualism at its finest. Turn genuine, important accomplishments, the sort of things people have a right to be proud of, into a source of ridicule and shame. Obama is doing good things for Washington and for the US, ergo, we must shame him for being elitist.

Indeed, historians have just named Obama the best president-elect ever. No, they haven't. For one thing, historians don't deal in current affiars, being historians and all, and how does one rate president-elects, anyway?

I don't recall the media swooning when President George W. Bush reached out to rivals, such as Sen. Teddy Kennedy, who was asked to co-write Bush's education bill. In fact, the way I remember it, Bush is liberals' most hated president ever (only because they can't remember George Washington or they'd hate him, too). Sure, if you're liberal, you hate George Washington. Automatically. In fact, if you read the fine print on the voter registration card, it says that if you register Democratic, you are required to hate George Washington. By the way, who doesn't . . . wait a minute . . . remember? Nobody alive today remembers George Washington. We all learned about him growing up. There is no way any USian over the age of 6, who does not have amnesia or serious brain damage, is not familiar with George Washington. Not possible. Sorry, Ms. Coulter.

The rest of this article ranges between the bizarre and the offensive, but I'll give it a try.

And yet no modern president has ever done more to bridge partisan divides and show respect to his opponents than George W. Bush. I do not say this with admiration; it is simply a fact. Really? It's a fact. Read on. It's also a fact that I have wings. I said so. They're really quite beautiful. Too bad you can't see them.

Throughout the year and again in his convention speech during the 2000 presidential campaign, Gov. Bush bragged that he had "no stake in the bitter arguments of the last few years. I want to change the tone of Washington to one of civility and respect." I can "brag" (which is not a good thing to do) that I'm superman, it doesn't make it true. Gee, if we can take everything everyone says at face value, then we don't need the justice system anymore. We'll just politely ask people if they beat/robbed/raped/killed that person, and if they say no, we're done. Much easier that way.

(As a side note: Bush would never have been elected president if not for the "bitter arguments of the last few years," in which Republicans exposed and impeached Bill Clinton, which then killed Al Gore's presidential ambitions. So you're welcome.) Did I say thank you for that? We're in the middle of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression and mired in two wars that aren't going anywhere resulting in thousands of dead US soldiers and around 150,000 dead civilan Iraqis. What am I supposed to be thanking her for? What did Ms. Coulter have to do with that, anyway?

But the point is: Bush was massively chummy with his enemies – Democrats, communists and the Congressional Black Caucus. So chummy that even they began to wonder if he was a little daft. I'm not sure "chummy" is word we're looking for here. Besides that, if Bush isn't crazy, then he's evil. Those are the only two explanations for his behavior that I can think of.

blahblahblah Bush is friends with everyone (but the citizens of the US, Arabs everywhere and democracy in general) blahblahblah

Then we get this little gem:

Bush even made a special point to meet with the Congressional Black Caucus upon taking office, which – given their feelings toward Bush – would be the equivalent of Obama holding a special meet-and-greet session with the upper management of the Ku Klux Klan.

Wow. Just wow. Drink that in for a minute. Yes, you read that right. No, I didn't make that up. The Congressional Black Caucus didn't like Bush's record on civil rights. They did not try to kill him, remove his right to vote, or any of the other heinous things the KKK has done over the years.

Ann Coulter, if she actually believes the things she says, is a racist.

Ms. Coulter, the equivalent for Obama would be to meet with people who don't agree with his voting record. You racist bitch.

Bush also famously said of then-Russian president, former KGB agent Vladimir Putin, that he looked him in the eye and "was able to get a sense of his soul." This is not something to be proud of. The average human being does not believe that they can see someone's soul by looking in their eyes. I don't claim that about my husband, let alone some guy I've met once or twice. This is evidence of Bush's general insanity/stupidity, not his alleged bipartisanship.

As president, Bush scuttled the playing of "Hail to the Chief" in his honor and repeatedly reminded his staff to act humbly. "Joe, I just don't think you're acting humble enough. C'mon people, it's not enough to act a little humble, you must shout your humility from the rooftops!" Act humbly. The relevant word isn't "humble", it's "act". Being humble and acting humbly are two different things. One is admirable, one is a cynical ploy. You can't circumvent or outright stomp on the constitution and then say, hey, I act all humble. Isn't that enough for you people?

To Ms. Coulter, racist bitch that she is, appearance is better than reality.

The Fixed Earth Guy Gets Crazier

Yeah, I know, who would have thought that possible?

Read my first post on the fixed earthers for background. They're crazy fun! (emphasis on crazy)
The level of outright fraud employed in the fabrication of this computer programmed virtual reality simulation of a video game universe (which is now accepted as "science" world wide!) makes all other scams ever concocted pale in comparison.
ummmm . . . we live in a computer programmed virtual reality? Why didn't I get the memo? And, if I play a video game while already in a video game, do I automatically achieve zen?

I'm really quite put out by this. I do want to live in a video game, but not this one. This one sucks. I spend way too much time doing mundane, boring tasks and not enough time killing zombies and saving the world. Why couldn't I live in say, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion or Fable 2? At the least Fallout 3 or Gears of War 2 would be more fun. Significantly more dangerous, but more fun. (I only want to live in Gears 2 if I am a character with a face. The Carmine brothers have proven that wearing a helmet is a death sentence in the Gears universe.)

Oh, wait, he has "proof" of this.

In keeping with modern man's proclivity to solve all his problems and achieve all his goals by using evermore cutting-edge technology, NASA stands out as a recognized leader. The new technology with which the NASAesque dream of administering the coup de grace to Bible credibility centers on the mind-fooling, hyper-deceptive technology of "Virtual Reality" (VR). This VR technology--virtually unknown before 1989--entered the 3rd millennium flexing its muscles and eager to carry out NASA's mission to remove God from the Origins business.
On the Net, Chris Chesher has posted an excellent summary of the birth and early growth of the VR phenomena (entitled: "Colonizing Virtual Reality"). NASA became an enthusiastic prime mover in developing the VR technology from the beginning. The reasons for NASA's embrace of VR are not hard to grasp in light of the stated goals of its "Origins Program". (See: NASA's Agenda....
First of all, I wouldn't say that NASA is the pinnacle of scientific acheivment in the 21st Century. They're cool and all, but not the pinnacle. I am voting for Apple, personally.

I was completely unaware that NASA's mission was to remove God from the Origin. I thought the North American Space Administration's missions had something to do with, I dunno, space? Oh, wait, that's right. From space, one can easily see that the earth does rotate and is not the center of a 200 mile wide universe. And that's NASA's fault.

I really cannot grasp why NASA's supposed goals would be served by VR. Wait! NASA has scientists. Scientists are atheists/communists/JEWS! and JEWS! are well known to be . . . extreme gamers?

Here's some info that helps in this situation. Word salad is a mixture of seemingly meaningful words that together signify nothing; the term originated as the common name for schizophasia, a symptom of various mental illnesses. It all makes sense now.

If you can't beat 'em . . .

accuse them of not being a citizen.

Janet Porter, neocon fundagelist "columnist", has posted a new "column"! I got my 11/11 wish! (In retrospect, I should have wished for world peace. Well, hindsight and all that.)

Let's dissect, shall we?

The Constitution Still Matters. Call Alannis Morisette- this is irony! Bush and Dick have spent the last eight years shredding the constitution while Ms. Porter cheered them on, and now the constitution matters? Therefore do not fear them, 'For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.'"
–Matthew 10:26
Random bible quote, taken out of context that seems relevant, but isn't. I'm going to start randomly quoting Gears of War 2 dialogue to make my points. "Dibs!"

Hold on. Just a minute. Not only was there no landslide and no mandate, there was no election. The Electoral College doesn't even vote until Dec. 15. And there's one thing that may stand in their way from affirming last Tuesday's popular vote: the Constitution Researching . . . *sigh* sort of technically true, but not so much. Basically, citizens of the US do not directly vote for President and Vice President. They cast their votes which determine who the electors vote for, and then the electors cast the official vote on the second Wednesday of December. However, electors are not free to vote for whomever they please. Faithless electors are members of the United States Electoral College who do not cast their electoral votes for the people they have pledged to vote for. 24 states have severe penalties for faithless electors. Note that Ms. Porter did admit that Obama won the popular vote. Bet that hurt!

For the electors to uphold the Constitution that they're sworn to do with their upcoming vote (bad grammar), they must first know for sure that the candidates meet the basic constitutional requirements for the office of president. He must be a natural-born citizen (true), at least 35 years old (true), and have at least 14 years of residency in these United States (true). That's not a lot to ask. Pretty basic, really.
And pretty easy. Either you are a natural born citizen or you aren't
(true). Just deliver the original birth certificate and everyone can be on their way (true, but i couldn't deliver my original birth certificate to anyone. i lost it. do i not get to be president now?). That's just what Phillip J. Berg has asked the United States Supreme Court to do. And the Supreme Court has asked for a response from Barack Obama along with the Democratic National Committee and Federal Elections Commission. And they have until Dec. 1 to respond.

A little background on Philip (one "l") J. Berg, Esquire. He also filed a lawsuit against President Bush because "he allowed 9/11 to happen" and asked three Supreme Court Justices to disbar themselves due to their opinions in Bush v. Gore. Yeah, he's just the guy you want to base your opinions on. In 2005 he was fined and sanctioned $10,000 for having committed a "laundry list of unethical actions."
""Other attorneys should look to Mr. Berg's actions as a blueprint for what not to do when attempting to effectively and honorably perform the duties of the legal profession," Joyner wrote.
"This court has grown weary of Mr. Berg's continuous and brazen disrespect toward this court and his own clients. Mr. Berg's actions ... are an enormous waste of judicial time and resources that this court cannot, in good conscience, allow to go unpunished," Joyner wrote.

oh, Ms. Porter, how the mighty have fallen. (Gears 2 : "Nice!")

Here's a little background on Berg's latest lawsuit.

1) The State of Hawaii has confirmed they hold a valid copy of President-elect Obama's birth certificate in their files.

2) If you look at the pictures FactCheck posted, you will clearly see an official embossed seal from the state of Hawaii and a date stamp.

3) In the lawsuits where Sen. McCain's citizenship was challenged, the lawsuits were dismissed without Sen. McCain submitting a certified copy of his birth certificate into the court record.

4) Berg cites the Nationality Act of 1940, Section 317(b) to support his claim that Stanley Ann Durham lost her US citizenship as a result of marrying Lolo Soetoro and moving to Indonesia. In reality, the Nationality Act of 1940, Section 317(b) says:

"From and after the effective date of this Act, a woman, who was a citizen of the United States at birth, and who has or is believed to have lost her United States citizenship solely by reason of her marriage prior to September 22, 1922, to an alien, and whose marital status with such alien has or shall have terminated, if no other nationality was acquired by affirmative act other than such marriage, shall, from and after the taking of the oath of allegiance prescribed by subsection (b) of section 335 of this Act, be deemed to be a citizen of the United States to the same extent as though her marriage to said alien had taken place on or after September 22, 1922"In other words, that section applies if the US citizen married the foreign national before 1922. Berg says that Stanley Ann Durham married Lolo Soetoro in 1967, 45 years after the cutoff. Therefore, this law does not apply to the Dunham-Soetoro marriage, and Stanley Ann Dunham retained her US citizenship after marriage in the eyes of US law, which is what applies in this case.

As we can see, the law is clear. Obama is a natural citizen of the United States. He is older than 35, he has lived here longer than 14 years. Done! No?

Surely a guy couldn't get this far without meeting the basic requirements, could he? Turns out … he could. Especially if the political party whose job it is to verify that their candidate is qualified has a conflict of interest – they want their guy to win. This makes sense unless you consider that lots of other people have an interest in Obama's background: the GOP, the news, everyone in the US, etc.

Exhibit A: The Grandmother's tape
I was in the delivery room in [Mombosa,] Kenya, when he was born Aug. 4, 1961.
– Obama's paternal grandmother
This is the link where Obama's grandmother says Barack Obama is a native Kenyan.
Here's the phone call where Obama's grandmother says Obama was born in Kenya.
While
politicians are known for it, grandmothers seldom lie Uh- huh. So, the law of the land says Obama is a natural US citizen, but we're taking his grandmother's words over the law. Again, this is real irony: Ms. Porter, who probably wouldn't stand in a room with a Kenyan unless they were serving her food is suddenly Mama Obama's biggest supporter. Besides that, Mama Obama is justifiably proud of her grandson's achievements. She is justifiably proud of being Kenyan. My grandmother (who is a not a native USian) frequently referred to me as "Italian". Should I be deported on the basis of those statements?

Experts have called the certificate of live birth a forgery. Phil Berg reported on my Faith2Action radio program yesterday, "It's clearly been altered," which invalidates it, according to the document itself. Berg added that there is no indication even on this certificate as to specifically where the birth took place. And it turns out that Hawaiian law at the time allowed people to register for this non-hospital short form certificate (without a doctor's signature) up to one year from the date of the child's birth. These are two of the three "experts" listed in the complaint (yes, this is actually how they are listed in a legal document presented to the Supreme Court) : Polarik (that's it, no first name) and "TechDude" (that's right, a screen name) Heck, if those are your requirements for being an expert, I'm a physicist. (Gears 2: "Sweet!")

Only Indonesian citizens could attend Indonesian schools at the time Barack Obama attended school in Indonesia where was registered as Barry Soetoro. His citizenship was listed as Indonesian and his religion as Islam. There was also no dual citizenship at the time.
If he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather, he would have forfeited any U.S. citizenship he may have had, just as when a child is adopted in America, he or she becomes an American.
Try harder. One of the parents had to be a citizen, not the child. His stepfather was an Indonesian citizen. Marriage does not automatically grant one citizenship and there is no evidence that Mom Obama gave up her US citizenship. Even if she had, that would not have invalidated Obama's citizenship.

According to Phillip Berg on my radio program yesterday, if Barack Obama went through immigration as he re-entered the United States Ok, I've had enough. If I say the Earth is flat on the radio tomorrow, does that make it true? No, but you're welcome to make an idiot out of yourself and quote me. (Gears 2: "Are you kidding me?")

And now comes the obligatory "slippery slope" argument. During the election, this came in the form of "A vote for Obama is a vote for gay terrorists to break into your home, force you to have an abortion and turn your kids gay with a single look!" (They'll be wearing lovely lavender uniforms, and after the abortion and gay-turning, will redecorate your home in an understated, but elegant, fashion. Gears 2: "Got one!") Today, the slippery slope argument is Here's the bottom line: either the Constitution matters or it doesn't. And if we're willing to ignore the constitutional requirements for the highest office in the land, what else are we willing to forgo? That part about free speech? Freedom of the press? Freedom of religion? If we are willing to shred one part of the Constitution, brace yourself to lose the rest .

BushDick spent the last eight years shredding the Constitution (see: wire-tapping) and I've still got freedom of speech and religion. I'm not defending BushDick or their actions, but the world hasn't stopped turning, I'm still proud to be an American (Gears 2: "Down in front!") and Ms. Porter's still free to worship Jesus by ignoring everything he ever said.
