BWAHAHAHAHAHA

James H at the Opinionated Catholic is concerned about the dark side of rights. You see, he fears that if gay marriage becomes legal, then people opposed to homosexuality and gay rights will suddenly be unable to find jobs, find housing, adopt children or keep their own, and will generally be marginalized.

In other words, he is afraid of being treated exactly the same way gays are currently being treated in this country. Apparently, gays being marginalized is the correct order of things, homophobes being marginalized is Teh Rong.

You know what, James? I'm over here just crying for you Argentina.

  1. Does James think that the legalization of gay marriage means that he will be required to marry a man himself? If not, what's his beef?

  2. Quoting from Stephen Colbert's priceless parody:

"Did you know if all 50 states approve gay marriage, regular marriage becomes illegal?"

    "Yes. I heard that somewhere."

  3. If marriage is outlawed, only outlaws will have inlaws.

Acutually no zilch I am not.

There are some major implications for when something is a Fundamental right. Now I don't think this should be. Also there is a question how this FUndamential right was very much opposed by large segments of the gay community till fairly recently. I will Andrew SUllivan credit for changing that line of thinking

  5. Does some genetic anomaly link fundamentalist thinking with an inability to write properly? This seems more and more like a good research proposal.

  6. Derrick Jensen wrote about the hierarchy of violence in our civilization. This is a perfect example. If the violence goes in the usual direction it is invisible and if noticed, justified.

  7. James- I've just read what you wrote three times, and I still don't understand what you're getting at. So I will repeat my question: what's your beef? In other words, how is it any skin off your nose if gays are allowed to marry?

Comments are for you guys, not for me. Say what you will. Don't feel compelled to stay on topic, I enjoy it when comments enter Tangentville or veer off into Non Sequitur Town. Just keep it polite, okay?

I am attempting to use blogger's new comment spam feature. If you don't immediately see your comment, it is being held in spam, I will get it out next time I check the filter. Unless you are Dennis Markuze, in which case you're never seeing your comment.
