Stomping Women's Heads is Tea Party Approved

Clearly, she is assualting his foot with her head and should be punished.

If you haven't heard about this yet, a Moveon.org member was attacked by a Rand Paul supporter. Specifically, she was dragged to the ground and stomped on. Yes, a man stomped on her head. And yes, it's totally cool to stomp on a woman's head if she happens to be liberal.

Hateful Person #1 God bless Rand Paul! Just another examples of the gays trying to obtain special rights. HELLO MoveOn!!! If you storm a U.S. Senate nominee...YOUR ASS IS GONNA GET STOMPED! I hope this situation is symbolic of the "stomping" that the liberals are going to get when Rand and Ron are running this country!!! In all fairness...,the insane"woman" who was detained to protect Dr.Paul, was held down by her back, not her big fat head!

    • Hateful Person #2 I did notice that in the video. What they called stomping on her head was his foot slipping off her shoulder, he moved it promptly upon it slipping.

    • Hateful Person #2 Also, IF she was 'for real' the WHY was she wearing such a large wig? (the kind used to disguise appearances)
      11 minutes ago · 1 personLoading... ·
    • Hateful Person #3 EXACTLY! Her defense was that she was "presenting him with a fake award". What does that even mean? If this was a Dem nominee that was stomed by a protester and detained...well,it would have a totally different spin on it. She had it coming to her! Nothing done to her was out of line or abusive!

For those reading this post that don't know to what we are referring--- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLJDMm-jp28 On watching the video again, I will admit that the guy with his foot on her shoulder WAS being a big forceful (she wasn't try...ing to get up), so he shouldn't have pushed down (stomp?) on her shoulder like that. I do hate to sound like I am judging from appearances, but with her hiding behind a wig, and her "butch" haircut, I am wondering if she is a lesbian, and maybe that is why she was detained....I don't know anything about this "award" that she was supposed to be presenting him....they "took her down" for a reason, and I would like to know why/what it was before I would make a final judgment on this.See More

    • Hateful Person #3 That is very fair and honest of you Hateful Person #2! I think she was hiding the butch haircut under the wig because she knew her appearance would hinder her protest by drawing attention to herself.

So, let's review: The Tea Party approves of assault. The Tea Party feels that if you are assaulted, you need a defense. The Tea Party approves of dragging a woman to the ground and stomping on her head. The Tea PArty feels that "detaining" lesbians is entirely justified. The Tea Party feels that all women with short hair are lesbians. The Tea Party defines "fair and honest" in way that the dictionary would not approve of.

The Tea Party makes me sick.

Oh, yes, the country will definitely be in a better place once these people are in power.

That Word? I Don't Think It Means What You Think It Means

If I have to tell you why this is racist, you need to DIAF.

The rightwingers are all kinds of bent out of shape at the NAACP's suggestion that the Tea Party should disavow racism in its movement. When accusations of racism in the Tea Party first surfaced, caused by actual examples of racism in the Tea Party movement, the Tea Party first tried denial. When that didn't work, they pulled the biggest No True Scotsman in history. That failed, so now they're going with "if you call me a racist, it's because you are a racist."

The NAACP should only propose resolutions that they have exercised themselves. The Tea Party, having only been active for a year and half, is the only group being singled out for racism in today’s society. There are races committed to the destruction of our entire nation and the Tea Party is being targeted as a threat. Perhaps it is a threat.

The Tea Party is only group being singled out for its racism? Really? I guess the writer has never heard of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks racist organizations in the United States and distributes lists of them. "Only" apparently doesn't mean what you think it does.

There are "races" committed to the destruction of the US? Races? Well, there's only so many races, so who is it? The blacks? Asians? Who? That statement is so ignorant, I now think that the NAACP needs to visit the house of every person in the US just to make sure they understand what the conversation is about, because the writer of this piece clearly does not.

These groups run to the rescue of distressed brown people only when the media deems it newsworthy. Meanwhile, there are inner city black children who continue to grow up fatherless while sharing a neighborhood with stray bullets, drugs and a plethora of liquor stores on every corner. To my understanding of the” I Have a Dream” speech, Dr. King’s intention was far from gang-banging and gangster rap.

Silly black people! They think gangsters are dreams! Also, the fact that you have no idea what the NAACP does when the cameras aren't on makes you ignorant, it doesn't make the NAACP useless.

I don’t believe that the true meaning of this nation’s creed was to move black people from one form of slavery to another. The NAACP has been completely ineffective in my lifetime, and the lack of leadership in the black community has contributed to the ability of these groups to speak on behalf of the rest of us. The ignored and forgotten society that lives among the projects has been abandoned by the likes of NAACP. And, along with other groups and individuals that rode in the coat-tails of MLK, they are irrelevant but continue to feed off of the codependence that they have created among blacks for validation.

Once this is realized by the forgotten society, race in this country will be as irrelevant as those who thrive off of it

Race is only a way of getting attention. Once you stop giving those people attention, we'll all be the same color! So, what has the NAACP done for you lately? A lot, as it turns out. (Simple search on the NAACP website, my dear, but why research an article you got paid for half as well as an unpaid blogger?)

The problem here isn't so much that the NAACP called the Tea Party out on its bullshit, it's what the NAACP has accomplished: helping the poor and disenfranchised. The last thing a bunch of nouveau GOPers masturbating to Ayn Rand want is children receiving free health care and unemployment benefit extensions.

What's so funny here is that the writer, in attempting to defend the Tea Party from accusations of racism has proven exactly how racist the Tea Party really is.

Contract From America

The Teabaggers have unveiled their Contract from America. First off, because I am a legal secretary, while you can have a contract "with" someone, you can't have a contract "from" someone. Contracts are voluntary on both sides, otherwise they aren't enforceable. Anyway . . .

The Contract From America, which was produced through an online voting process . . .

Yeah, that's the best way to create policy. I'm a part of the crazy that is online opinion and I know that's a bad idea. Let's see what 10 things online teabaggers think would be the best policies to reduce joblessness, repair the economy and make government work for the people of this great nation.*

(1) Protect the Constitution: Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does (82.03 percent).

Not that I really care, that would be work of a moment (you do that sort of thing all the time in legal filings), but why? What's that going to accomplish? This is their most popular option?

"(2) Reject Cap & Trade: Stop costly new regulations that would increase unemployment, raise consumers prices, and weaken the nation's global competitiveness with virtually no impact on global temperatures (72.20 percent).

Look, to be honest, I know very little about cap & trade. I do, however, know that most teabaggers don't believe in climate change, so I'm a little suspicious about this. Perhaps someone that does know something about cap & trade can educate me.

(3) Demand a Balanced Budget: Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax hike. (69.69 percent)

Oh, they want to kill the economy and induce an even greater Great Depression. Okay, then. Look, this isn't the first time someone has considered balancing the budget in a recession. Hoover tried it, too. It didn't work. Can we please try learning from the past instead of mindlessly repeating it? I swear to you it works better that way.

(4) Enact Fundamental Tax Reform: Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words -- the length of the original Constitution. (64.90 percent).

So, a good tax code is measured by how many words it uses? What? That's utterly nonsensical. I think what they want is a flat tax, which is exceedingly regressive. Flat taxes end up affecting the poor far more than the rich. I'm unsurprised that teabaggers either don't know this or don't care about this.

(5) Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington: Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited government consistent with the U.S. Constitution's meaning. (63.37 percent)

Wait, you want to create a task force (lots of money) to figure out where we are losing lots of money? Ummm . . . hey, I can help you out with that one.

(6) End Runaway Government Spending: Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57 percent).

Or, we could just end our pointless wars. You know, either way.

(7) Defund, Repeal & Replace Government-run Health Care: Defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care with a system that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable by enabling a competitive, open, and transparent free-market health care and health insurance system that isn't restricted by state boundaries. (56.39 percent).
I have so dealt with this before. I'm not saying it again.

(8) Pass an 'All-of-the-Above' Energy Policy: Authorize the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation, lowering prices and creating competition and jobs. (55.51 percent).

Fuck it, we'll put a Chernobyl in your back yard, cause who needs regulation?

(9) Stop the Pork: Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark. (55.47 percent).

You have Porkulus Palin as your de facto leader and you want to give me this bullshit? Really? Ms. "I was for the Bridge to Nowhere and then I was against it after it wasn't even being built?" Yeah, okay.

(10) Stop the Tax Hikes: Permanently repeal all tax hikes, including those to the income, capital gains and death taxes, currently scheduled to begin in 2011. (53.38 percent)."

Your taxes are lower now than they have been in quite some time, and you're complaining about tax hikes? And cry me a fucking river about capital gains and death taxes. First of all, "death taxes" are actually called estate taxes. Here's a website totally opposed to estate taxation. Even they have to admit that 2011 isn't going to much different than 2002-2009. In 2011, the max unified rate will be 50%, as it was in 2002, and a mere 5% higher than it was in 2009.

So, that's what most important to the teabaggers: estate taxes, repealing healthcare reform and proper cites in legislation. Unreal.

*You think that might not be their ultimate goal? You cynic, you!

Oh, Yeah, We're Totally Post Racial

She's so damn proud of her bigotry.

If by "post racial", you mean racism is rampant.

Among whites who approved [of the Tea Party movement], 35 percent said they believe blacks to be hardworking, 45 percent said they believe them intelligent and 41 percent said they believe them trustworthy.

Run the numbers backwards. 65% of teabaggers think blacks are lazy, 55% think blacks are stupid and 59% clutch their purses tightly when they see a black person.

That's sad. Sad and disturbing.

What Obama's Done Wrong

totally unrelated to the post

Did you ever listen to someone go on about a person they have an irrational hatred for- a coworker, acquaintance, musician, celebrity- and while they can't think of one nice thing to say about the individual, they also can't come up with one specific flaw or bad act, either? You're left with the opinion that either the hatred is completely irrational, or the hater doesn't want to admit what it is they really hate about the person, i.e., race, sexual orientation, etc.

That's what it's like when wingnuts try to describe their hatred of Obama. (Note: this is what real people who vote actually think about Obama. It's frightening.)

Describe what Obama is doing wrong

I perceive a very negative opinion of Obama on this board. I'm not American and I don't know much about politics, but I was in the midst of a pro-Obama discussion between some Christians and had the nerve to speak up with an alternative viewpoint. I don't think I articulated my view very well.

I would appreciate if someone could sum up what Obama is doing wrong, as concisely as possible. Is it possible that the negatives are outweighed by the positive changes he is making, as these Christians believed?

Keep in mind, this person who doesn't know anything about American politics, or Obama, hates Obama, for admittedly no reason at all. That's some fantastic wingnuttery right there. (From Canada, no less!) "Please tell me why I should hate the man I already hate."

First off, are you living on this planet ? What has this guy done right ? Just one thing do you know ? I can't believe you are asking this question.

Well, uh, healthcare. Dialing down the rhetoric in the Middle East. Taking nuclear responses to nonnuclear provocation off the table. Those are good things.

Well I'm not American either, so I don't know the issues as intimately as others here. But some off the top of my head are:

1. Making Abortion more accessible

2. Over-ruling the Constitution to ram what he wants down the throats of the people

3. Refusing to produce a Birth Certificate and taking extreme lengths to hide it... he's a law breaker, to say the least.

4. Mocking the Bible, the Christian faith, and bullying Israel while reaching out to the Muslims.

That's just a starter list.....

None of those things. How has Obama made abortion more accessible? He has not. He has not overruled the Constitution, he has not refused to produce a birth certificate, nor has he mocked the bible or christians. He has not bullied Israel, though I wish he would. As for "reaching out to Muslims", yes, he did do that. There's 1 billion of them, and they live on the same planet we do. We need to make nice occasionally.

My apologies. I will just sum up Obama as short as I can , HE IS BAD NEWS . If I make a list of what this guy has done my blood pressure will go through the roof. I will let others explain the things this guy has done.

I, too, cannot answer the question, but my nonanswer will be in convincing RED CAPS.

He's done everything wrong. He basically just kicked this nation off a cliff, and it's currently plummeting towards the jagged rocks. We're just waiting for the gruesome death.

I can't answer the question, either, but I will use violent imagery to not answer your question.

1. He supports and upholds infanticide!

2. He hates this country, the very country he leads. Don't believe me, then, read his two, that's right, two autobiographies!

3. He just came out and said the US will never use nukes, even if we are attacked by nukes, he will never respond in that way. In other words, please attack America, you will not be retaliated against.

4. He is a Marxist. He does not believe in the free market system. He is nationalizing every piece of our economy he can get his hands on.

5. He is a racist. In his book he speaks very badly of white people. His grandparents who raised him were white, and he said he hated that part of himself, and would separate himself from that part. He actually referred to his own grandmother as a "typical white person."

6. He is a liar. He said he sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years but never heard the radical sermons that we have heard sound bites of......

7. He is anti-Israel. He supports Israel's enemies, not our ally, Israel. In fact, he bows down to Arab kings, but treats Netanyahu like a door mat.

Is this enough because there is much much more....

Infanticide, really? Um, no. Hates America? No. Taking nuclear weapons off the table is apparently a bad thing in this alternate reality in which Obama eats babies. Marxist? Obama is barely left of center. Oh, you're talking about healthcare. Yes, providing healthcare for your fellow Americans is the mark of Stalin.

Then we're back to the racist meme, which is racist in and of itself. For as much as Obama is described as being "black", he's half white. His mother was white, his grandparents were white, he himself is as much white as he is black. Accusing Obama of being racist against white people is an attempt to make him TEh Scaree (entirely) Black Man Who Will Shank You All, Possibly In Da Hood.

#1 He diminishes Jesus Christ, and is embarrassed by the claims of God about His Son.

He secured 700+ billion dollars as a slush fund to "stimulate" the things he wants to "stimulate."

He secured a new federal entitlement program while ignoring all the other entitlement programs bankruptcy.

He cuts deals with "special" interests at the expense of the rest of us, like giving unions special deals on health care. A feat usually reserved by mutual silence because it is shameful, he now makes public, even righteous in his own eyes, and flaunts in the face of the people.

He "apologized" to the world for Americas 'folly', in his own eyes anyway.

He has let double digit unemployment hang around the necks of the people. Yes, it is entirely his responsibility, I give him no one iota of slack.

However, if you're arguing with your average European or socialist, I wouldn't even waste my breath.

The diminishment of Jesus I can only assume means being polite to Muslims. Yes, there was no stimulus in the Bush Administration. None at all. What entitlement programs are bankrupt? Guess I missed that. As for the unemployment, yes, the economy was fine under Bush. It collapsed the day Obama took office. Totally Obama's fault. Yes, indeedy.

The worst thing he has done above all else...
He has played the race card. He has demonized white, hard working , law abiding, CHRISTIAN, God Fearing Americans. Everything is the white man's fault.

Yes, it's so hard to be a white, Christian male in America today.

Kidding aside, you have said it better than I could. And as good as your list is it just scratches the surface of what this radical, narcicistic, muslim, comunist, socialist, Chicago machine politician, and out of control refugee from the rubber room president could do to this country and the world if he isn't stopped; and soon.

So, barely left of center is radical and comunist [sic] AND socialist, black is muslim, something is narcicistic [sic], and black is "out of control refugee". I get tea party politics now.

With all this said, either Obama is extremely ignorant of what the people of this country want, or he is very shrewd. He is stripping us of all rights and putting us in physical danger. He has surrounded himself with liars and thieves who will stop at nothing to get what they want. And they think it's funny. They laugh at us and make fun of us and even set us up to look bad. He's controlling the media now and trying to remove our free speech. We have a dictator problem now and yet, we do nothing. Isn't there something we can do to stop this craziness?

He's ignorant of what the majority who elected him want? I doubt it. What rights has Obama stripped you of, and were you equally enraged when Bush stripped you of rights? Nobody needs to set you up to look bad, you guys do that just fine on your own. As for controlling the media- have you seen Fox and CNN? Have you had any trouble listening to Limbaugh? I didn't think so. As for what to do about "this craziness", I assume you've heard of voting?

There's just not going to be any getting through to these people, is there?

I Will Now Have to Beat Someone with a Privilege Stick

tea bag, tea party, teabagging, privileged, asshat
I would like to preface this by reminding all and sundry that we on the left didn't appropriate the term "teabagger/teabagging" to describe whatever the fuck goes on at odd little protests against ill-defined stuff. Teabaggers were quite proud of their cleverness until someone happened upon a liberal blog and discovered that OMAIGAWD, TEH GAI DOES WHAT?! and hilarity ensued. Of course, it's our fault for being so dirty. And mean. We're very mean. To which I can only say, so long and thanks for all the lulz.

I can understand the teabagger's consternation (actually, both sets. I'm sure people that enjoy the sexual activity of the same name don't like being associated with wingnut asshats), but comparing "teabagger" to "ni**er" is not acceptable, and Jay Nordlinger is an entire fleet of douche canoes for suggesting it.

To “teabag” or not to “teabag”: That is not the most pressing question of these times, but it is a question to consider. Routinely, conservative protesters in the “tea party” movement are called “teabaggers,” and those calling them that do not mean it in a nice way. Many conservatives are mulling what to do about this term: fight it, embrace it, what?

You started calling yourselves that, don't blame us if you opened up a crate of hilarity worms.

Now to the question of what to do. How should conservatives handle this matter? Should we challenge the language, let it slide, adopt it? Many conservatives — most, I would say — are of a mind to fight. According to this point of view, people who use “teabagger” and such should be called on it, especially if they smirk. “What do you mean by that?” one might ask. “What do you mean by ‘teabagger,’ and why do you smirk?” In other words, conservatives want to introduce a little shame. And the responses of liberals could be kind of interesting.

Well, then, don't ask me because I'll actually tell you, then I'll show you how to use Teh Googlez to avoid such hilarity in the future*. Well, maybe not that second part, because I'm a big fan of the Teh Funnee. For the record, I've never smirked about this issue. I laugh right out loud.

What about a special case — the worst word in American English, as some of us see it, namely the N-word? When I was growing up, in Ann Arbor, Mich., there was a little debate: Should school officials try to prevent black students from using the N-word? I don’t believe the issue was ever settled. And this brings up the question of whether “teabagger” could be kind of a conservative N-word: to be used in the family, but radioactive outside the family.

Here's the quick and dirty on such things: do not presume, as a white guy with all the privilege that brings, to come to a decision regarding what minorities may choose to do with epithets aimed their way.

Also, the "n word" has a very long, vile history and has been used for a very long time to oppress a certain minority group, what makes you think that is at all comparable to the sexual slang you chose to label yourself with? Asshat.

Definitely not Post Racial

neonazi, republican, george hutchins, wingnut, teabagging,
At first, I thought this was a website so hilarious, it deserves its own Wiki entry.

(My computer saves pictures in black and white, but the actual website is positively psychedelic.)

George Hutchins is an actual candidate for Congress. He "invites all black, white, spanish and asian voters" to join him. I guess those of Native American or Middle Eastern descent can go fuck themselves. I'm not sure why, but he invokes Jesse Helms repeatedly, and pictures of Ronnie Raygun are liberally sprinkled throughout.

He also wants you to remember the Alamo, or a movie about the Alamo.

"The November 4, 2008 U.S. President Election, to include ALL North Carolina state elections of 2008, was the ALAMO of the U.S. Republican Party in North Carolina, and the ALAMO of the U.S. Republican Party Nationwide !!! "

"During the 2008 U.S. Elections, as a Campaign STAFF member, of the FRED SMITH for North Carolina Governor Campaign during the NC Republican Primary, a volunteer for the U.S. Senator ELIZABETH DOLE Campaign, and Veterans For John MCCAIN MEMBER, I FOUGHT with all legal methods to STOP Obama - Nation."

"As I was FIGHTING 'Obama - Nation' in 2008, Fence-Riders and RINO'S RAN for their lives, while these same RINO'S attempted to silent my Honorable Efforts."

"In addition to MASS VOTING FRAUD, it was these same RINO'S, and same Fence-Riders, which caused the Republicans to lose big during the 2008 elections, in both, North Carolina, and Nationwide."

"These same Fence-Riders and same RINO'S, while UNJUSTLY claiming to be Conservatives, FALSELY believed 'Obama Supporters' would also vote for them, or the Republican Candidate, which they supported, in North Carolina, during 2008."

That's just a mess of ungrammatical teabagging dog-whistling and inappropriate war analogies. It should prove quite popular with the wingnut set.

To stop the OBAMA-NATION Socialists in Washington DC, we must first go to the root of the POISON TREE, which created all them.

This POISON TREE, is the "Social Engineering" located within the so-called 1964 Civil Rights Act, to the U.S. Constitution.

The ONLY REASON, the so-called 1964 Civil Rights Act passed, was due the fact, Lyndon B. JOHNSON, had many political debts owed to him, in 1964.

=> During 1964, if one did NOT repay their political debts, when they were called due, such a politician's political career was over.

=> Lyndon B. JOHNSON called all his debts in 1964.

To DEFEAT OBAMA-NATION, we must take a close look at all of the "Social Engineering" contained in the so called 1964 Civil Rights Act, and take legal steps to remove this "Social Engineering" contained in the so-called 1964 Civil Rights Act.

"Social Engineering," includes FORCED DIVERSITY, FORCED RACIAL INTEGRATION, Affirmative Action Quotas Based on Race, and all Privileges Based on Race, which are influenced by the so-called 1964 Civil Rights Act to the U.S. Constitution.

We must use all of our resources NOW, to prevent ALL future U.S. Generations from suffering under the same bondage which were forced upon all of us, due to the so-called 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Well, it took me about 5 seconds to discover that George Hutchins is a Neo Nazi. Also good to know that Neo Nazis like Fox News. The GOP, btw, doesn't support or even acknowledge George Hutchins. I suspect he calls himself republican because "Neo Nazi for Congress" doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Tell the Teabaggers Exactly What You Think

health care, hough,wojtowicz, teabagging, stupid,
(h/t to Hell's Senior Canadian Correspondent, Joe-ay)

Teabaggers mocked a grieving mother at a November 14 town hall meeting in Oak Lawn.

Mocked. A. Grieving. Mother.

The family, Dan and Midge Hough, of Chicago, spoke in favor of health care reform and in support of U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-3rd) at a Nov. 14 town hall meeting in Oak Lawn.

Their daughter-in-law, Jenny, and an unborn grandchild died recently due in part, they believe, to a lack of health insurance. They said Jenny was not receiving regular prenatal care and ended up in an emergency room with double pneumonia that developed into septic shock. Her baby died in the womb, and Jenny died a few weeks later, leaving behind a husband and a 2-year-old daughter.

Catherina Wojtowicz, of Chicago's Mount Greenwood community, an organizer for a Tea Party splinter group, Chicago Tea Party Patriots, falsely claimed that the Houghs fabricated their story. In an e-mail, she called them operatives of President Barack Obama who "go from event to event and (cry) the same story."

When the Houghs spoke at the Lipinski event, some Tea Partiers ridiculed them. They moaned and rolled their eyes and interrupted. Midge Hough began to cry.

I think we should all tell Catherina exactly what we think of her behavior, though I would prefer we all keep it polite. As much as I would like to tell her what a stupid fucking . . . fucking . . . teabagger* she is, I think we should stick with something more polite. And, if Catherina has the nerve to tell you that she thought the Houghs were "operatives", I think you should introduce her to the word "research", though not "fucking bitch". You should probably keep that one to yourself.

$5 to the first person who can correctly identify

acorn, tim jones, 912 project, washington, vendors, racism, tea party, teabagging,
all the amendments to the constitution Tim Jones does not understand.

Tim Jones is the wingnut "hero" of the above video. In the video, shot at the 9/12 Washington DC protest tea party hate rally whatever, he accuses three black street vendors (two of them minors) of being ACORN*, then proceeds to yell at and follow them until they leave. He later characterized his actions as a victory, stating: “The truth caused them to leave finally,” he said. “The truth can win out if we stand with the truth!”

What truth? That you can scare three black people half to death by attempting to whip up a group of 70,000 white people into an angry mob against them? I think we already knew that one.

Ignoring the absolutely absurd notion that Acorn sent street vendors to the 9/12 thing, (and the fact that Mr. Jones didn't suspect any white vendors of being Acorn plants*) so what if they did? This was a public event on public property. What right does anyone have to tell another person they can't attend?

Those street vendors have the First Amendment right to believe and say what they wish. They share in the right to demonstrate also guaranteed by the First Amendment. One would think Mr. Jones would recognize, as a proud believer in capitalism, their right to make a living, maybe even pull themselves up by their bootstraps, as it were.

Wait . . . I think I know which amendment Mr. Jones is unfamiliar with. I do believe that would be lucky number fourteen.

Sigh.

*actually "Akawn". apparently, "Dora the Explorer" actually rhymes in the Jones' household.

Treebagging

tea bag, teabag, tea party, teabagging, liberal, conservative, speenweasel, asshat, stupid, tax day, protest
So, the Tea Parties are over now. Well, for the time being. Apparently, July 4th, a day devoted to taxes to be sure, is being put forward for the next round of silliness.

Let's review:

The teabaggers (rofl) were protesting higher taxes- no, wait, Obama lowered taxes on 95% of USians, so that can't be it.

The teabaggers (lol) were protesting the highest tax rate ever in US history- no, that can't be it. The highest tax rate in recent memory was the 50% tax rate under Ronald Reagan.

The teabaggers (lulz) are angry about the fact that Obama and the liberals caused the economic meltdow- no, that started under Bush. In case you have a very short memory indeed, the economy was big issue during the election.

The teabaggers (stop, please!) are angry that Obama started the stimulus spendin- no, that started under Bush.

The teabaggers (you named yourselves after a sexual act that involves testicles) are angry at the brand new out of control government spending- no, that can't be it. Bush started his presidency with a surplus, and ended it with stimulus packages.

The teabaggers (and mouths) are angry that liberals spent the entirety of Bush's presidency threatening secession and protestin- oh, no that's right, we didn't.

Fuck it. I cannot for the life of me figure out what those spleenweasels were doing, other than proving that some people are very sore losers.
And what did they do to that tree?

Civil Disobedience Fail

tea bag, tea party, teabag, teabagging, conservative, asshat, mlk,
Thoreau has doubtless achieved orbit by now.

Tea Party Permit Troubles:

Protesters, using a rented truck to haul the million tea bags, began unloading their cargo at the park this morning but were told by officials that they didn't have proper permits and must move the tea . They complied with the order but are still considering what to do with the load.

. . .

The protesters got more bad news when security officials also told them that they did not have proper permits for a rally in front of the Treasury building.

Yeah, how much do you really believe in what you're doing if you're not willing to get a ticket for it? (See also: how many times was Martin Luther King, Jr. arrested?)

Nobody Is This Clueless

2m4m, nom, gallagher, maggie, beaver, teabag, teabagging, homophobia, traditional, gay, marriage,
Okay, first we had conservatives everywhere protesting . . . something with "teabagging", seemingly oblivious to the sexual reference. I say "seemingly", because once they switched from mailing actual teabags to the White House to mailing pictures of teabags, they had to have noticed what comes up in a google image search for "teabag". But, no, they're sticking with "teabagging".

Now we have Maggie Gallagher's latest NOM campaign: 2M4M. Uh, yeah.

Wtf is up with conservatives' use of sexual slang? Nobody could possibly be this clueless. Nobody. This is like McCain bitching about "beaver management": you know damn well he picked that earmark because it allowed him to use a slang term for vagina on national TV.

For a bunch of people trying shove "family values" and "morals" down our throats, conservatives sure are obsessed with slightly-off-the-norm sexual practices.

More on the Tea Party Asshattery

tea bag, tea party, teabag, teabagging, conservative, liberal, obama, bush, spleenweasel, asshat, stupid,
The Washington Monthly as an excellent look at another part of the tea party silliness that has been bothering me: these spleenweasels weren't mailing anyone bags of Lipton when Bush was spending money and driving the US government into a deficit (not to mention taking away civil liberties, starting wars and ordering torture).

Now we're less than 3 months into the first black President's term and spending money is BAD! Taxes are BAD! Civil liberties are GOOD!

Seriously, bite me.

Outside the Beltway's Alex Knapp, a libertarian, took a look at some of these events and came up with some important observations. Knapp noted, for example, the fact that most "Tea Party" participants will get a tax cut from Obama, so it's kind of difficult to believe them when they say they feel put upon. For that matter, "Tea Party" cheerleaders didn't mind excessive government spending when it was going to an unnecessary war in Iraq. He concluded:
Let's call the "tea party" and "going Galt" nonsense what it is: unprincipled partisan hackery. If these were truly principled protests, they'd have been around all through the Bush and Republican-controlled Congress years, too.

Quite right. It's no doubt inconvenient for this crowd, but a Republican Congress and Republican White House worked together to increase the debt by $5 trillion, expand the size of government, increase spending, increase the tax burden on the middle class, and expand the powers of the executive to undermine civil liberties. The some people attending "Tea Parties" not only cheered these GOP policymakers on, but voted to keep them in office as long as possible. (Indeed, many condemned those who disagreed, accusing liberals of "treason" for failing to support elected leaders during a crisis..)

Literally just two months into a Democratic administration, far-right activists are now holding public protests? They're mad about deficits and a loss of "liberty"?

I almost feel sorry for the folks who get conned into believing this nonsense.
