Senator James Inhofe: Only White Males Are Impartial

asshat, latina, misogyny, racism, bigotry, sotomayor, inhofe, scotus
First we had Republicans insulting Sonia Sotomayor's intelligence. (I hate to break it to you, you bigoted asshats, but there are intelligent women and intelligent persons of color out there. I know, it's amazing!)

Now we have this official press release from James Inhofe:

Without doubt, Judge Sotomayor's personal life story is truly inspiring. I congratulate her on being nominated. As the U.S. Senate begins the confirmation process, I look forward to looking closer at her recent rulings and her judicial philosophy.

"Of primary concern to me is whether or not Judge Sotomayor follows the proper role of judges and refrains from legislating from the bench. Some of her recent comments on this matter have given me cause for great concern. In the months ahead, it will be important for those of us in the U.S. Senate to weigh her qualifications and character as well as her ability to rule fairly without undue influence from her own personal race, gender, or political preferences."

Yes, James, only white males are capable of being impartial. Latinos and women (and especially Latino women) will automatically rule in favor of other Latinos and women, and against white males. It's just the way we are. Maybe it's the darker skin, maybe it's the ovaries, who can tell?

Asshatting asshat.

  1. gods, how did i miss that comment?

i have never understood why we are generally told that white men are impartial, except when they are being bigoted, and when they are being bigoted the answer is not to either A) get rid of the bigot or B) educate the bigot but for some reason is C) feel sorry for the bigot, make excuses for the bigot, and accept everything the bigot does - and if you don't, then *you* are a bigot.

this mindset... it's like this. i go to the Verizon store because my phone is broke. the first available salesperson is a black person. do i go to that person because s/he is the first available, or because s/he is black?

*I* go because s/he is the first available. but bigots will tell me it is because s/he is black, and that i am being a bigot by going to the *black* salesperson, because if i wasn't a bigot i would *obviously* go to the white person because... actually, i don't know *why* i would do that. unless it was the white person who was first available. then i would go to the white salesperson.

  2. I have heard that so much over the last day it's astounding. Yes, that's right, women are emotional and incapable of being impartial. You found us out. Moron.
What I love is that they have really had to drop the "not qualified" argument when people started countering it with "Harrier Meyers".

Comments are for you guys, not for me. Say what you will. Don't feel compelled to stay on topic, I enjoy it when comments enter Tangentville or veer off into Non Sequitur Town. Just keep it polite, okay?

I am attempting to use blogger's new comment spam feature. If you don't immediately see your comment, it is being held in spam, I will get it out next time I check the filter. Unless you are Dennis Markuze, in which case you're never seeing your comment.
