Why It's Hard to be a Girl

In case you're not female and you're wondering why women are always going on about how hard it is to be a woman and body image this and Hollywood that, here you go:

Is Angelina Jolie Turning Shiloh Into a Boy? Parenting Experts
Weigh In

When Brad Pitt was spotted in Paris on Feb. 23, it looked like he and
Angelina Jolie had adopted a new child -- an adorable blond boy. Instead, it was
the couple's 3-year-old daughter, Shiloh, sporting boys' clothes and a new
haircut so shockingly short it immediately ignited a firestorm of controversy.
"It's a drastic change," says an eyewitness. "The last time we'd seen her, her
hair was longer and blonder, and she was more girlie. We were surprised Angelina
dressed her so much like a little boy."Reaction on the Internet was far harsher
and even some seen-it-all celebrity stylists were stunned by the transformation. "Shiloh is pushing the boundaries of a tomboy look and crossing over to
cross-dresser territory,"
Alana Kelen, senior fashion stylist at VH1,
tells Life &
Style. "Shiloh is looking more and more like her daddy these days," agrees
celebrity stylist Gili Rashal-Niv.

The cross-dresser in question is 3. THREE. Senior fashion stylists are seriously discussing, in the media, the style preferences of a toddler.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Oh, and those "parenting experts"? They work for Focus on the Family.

I repeat. WHAT. THE FUCK.

  1. I have only one thing to say to Fuckus on the Family:

    Luke 6:42
How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

  2. Well, frankly, the very fact that the asshats are from FotF should immediately render anything they possibly do or have to say, immaterial.

Although, I admit, this is fucked up even by their standards. At 3, I was wearing fucking overalls and never even knew how to put them on by myself. I doubt any infant that age has any idea of what the hell they’re wearing … much less what it may or may not say about their gender identity. Seriously.

  3. I guess dressing as the devil for Halloween as a child explains my current situation...

  4. Feh. Why even read stuff like this?

  5. As a kid I rarely if ever had short hair. It was always medium length. Looking back at my kid photo's, I find myself thinking "who is that girl in the boys clothes? Oh, right..."

Note to "fahsion experts:" kids at age three are androgynous for all practical purposes.

  6. I don't ever remember giving a shit about what I had on until I was at least 12. Didn't care. I had short short short boy hair until I was 12 or 13 (I'm female). I'm a girly girl now btw. It doesn't matter. When you're 3 you eat sleep play poop.

  7. "Why even read stuff like this?" It's not the reading that's the problem - it's that it's being written and published.

  8. Shiloh is adorable. If anything her clothing choice demonstrates the arbitrary nature of the clothes and hairstyles that we consider "feminine" or "masculine."

And so the fuck what if she turns out to be a lezzzzzzzbian when she's older?
