How come nobody told me about Girl Genius?! It's gorgeous and funny and smart and the princess saves the princes and the day- repeatedly, in really bizarre ways. And it won a Hugo Award. That's a big deal!
Anyway, enjoy a piece that I swear is a sly comment on the difference between Apple and Microsoft.
So... which side is Apple?
ReplyDeleteI was just about to ask the same thing.
ReplyDeleteAlso (I was the anon. from earlier, as I had less time then) you should look into fantasy comic The Meek, sci-fi/fantasy/mystery comic Gunnerkrigg Court, and the wonderfully odd transhumanist comic Dresden Codak, if you like GG. All great webcomics, all alternately hilarious and deeply moving.
ReplyDeleteAlso: Airman "The Unstoppable" Higgs exists, in my opinion, to be promoted to Bosun.
First time poster here (been lurking for ages)
ReplyDeleteNot entirely quite sure whether to thank you or berate you for posting that link.
The comic was indeed extremely awesome and i just spent nearly 5 hours reading the entire thing in one go :D
Which leads to the worst thing about online comics: I've just read over half a decades worth of output in one day, now it's restricted to a few comics a week to continue the story! Eak :D
So thank you muchly for pointing it out, but ouch for me having to wait to see how it ends!
and I thought XKCD was overly verbose...
ReplyDeleteSesquipedalian verbosity and periphrastic locution are some of the greatest joys in life.
ReplyDeleteYes, Agatha Heterodyne is awesome. The plot is incredibly well-done with lots of seemingly minor things turning out to be deeply connected as the story progresses.
ReplyDeletePersonal Failure: I hate you so much for this. If I click that link I just know my productivity will go out the window and I'll get shouted at at work. Must... Resist... Urge...

I feel your pain. Sluggy Freelance was my introduction to Webcomics, which meant I spent the better part of a fortnight reading over 13 years worth of comics! It's still my favorite.
PS: XKCD? Verbose? Someone's never read Order of the Stick.
